Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) partners with the President/CEO to support the achievement of the organization's mission and strategic objectives. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the CFO is responsible for the overall financial management, integrity, and reporting of the agency's finances. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the CFO provides strategic leadership and guidance on financial planning, budgeting, fiscal oversight, cost-benefit analysis, and resource allocation. The CFO also plays a critical role in identifying and securing funding opportunities, ensuring financial sustainability, and supporting organizational decision-making to advance both operational and long-term strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and audits.
  • Partner with the CEO on strategic planning and contract negotiations.
  • Oversee grants, funding reports, and nonprofit compliance.
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and financial controls.
  • Direct billing, collections, revenue cycle, and receivables.
  • Lead capital projects and support facilities planning.
  • Collaborate with the Board Finance Committee on financial strategy.
  • Build, mentor, and develop the finance team.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive nonprofit finance experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong background in grant accounting, federal/state funding, and nonprofit compliance.
  • Experience with Medicaid and Medicare audits.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment.
